Giants select Dwayne Haskins, Cody Ford in latest Draft Wire mock

In their first 2019 NFL Mock Draft of the new year, our friends over at Draft Wire projected Ohio State quarterback Dwayne Haskins, Clemson defensive lineman Christian Wilkins, Washington offensive tackle Trey Adams and Penn State edge rusher Shareef Miller to the New York Giants over the first four rounds.

On Thursday, Draft Wire released their second mock draft of the new year, and at No. 6 overall, nothing changed. Once again, the Giants selected Haskins in Round 1.

Haskins has spent the last few weeks publicly flirting with the Giants, including a shared photoshop of him in a Big Blue uniform that was later deleted.

Even with Kyler Murray officially declaring for the NFL Draft, Haskins makes the most sense for the Giants at No. 6 if a quarterback is their desire in the first round. Expect to see him mocked to the Giants consistently.

In Round 2 of the Draft Wire mock, things changed a bit. Instead of Christian Wilkins at No. 38 overall (pick pending the finalized compensatory picks), they now have Oklahoma offensive tackle Cody Ford going to the Giants.

The Giants do have a serious need at tackle, but Mel Kiper Jr. projects Ford will move inside to guard in the NFL. And while right guard isn’t quite as pressing an issue for the Giants, they could still trend in that direction come draft time.

While the Draft Wire mock went into Round 3, the Giants had no additional picks after spending their third-round pick on cornerback Sam Beal in the 2018 Supplemental Draft.
