Giants to pick No. 6 in 2019 NFL Draft

Now for a look at the history of the No. 6 pick over the last decade, beginning with the most recent: G Quenton Nelson (Colts), S Jamal Adams (Jets), OT Ronnie Stanley (Ravens), DE Leonard Williams (Jets), OT Jake Matthews (Falcons), LB Barkevious Mingo (Browns), DB Morris Claiborne (Cowboys), WR Julio Jones (Falcons), OT Russell Okung (Seahawks) and OT Andre Smith (Bengals).

There have been 12 Pro Football Hall of Famers drafted sixth overall: OT Joe Stydahar (1936 draft class), QB Sammy Baugh (‘37), C Alex Wojciechowicz (‘38), QB Y.A. Tittle (‘48), FB Jim Brown (‘57), CB Jimmy Johnson (‘61), DE Carl Eller (‘64), RB Floyd Little (‘67), RB John Riggins (‘71), WR James Lofton (‘78), WR Tim Brown (‘88) and OT Walter Jones (‘97). The Giants have used the No. 6 pick three times in franchise history: HB George Franck (’41), FB Steve Filipowicz (’43), and HB Billy Hillenbrand (’44).

The 2019 NFL Draft returns to primetime with Round 1 on Thursday, April 25. Rounds 2 and 3 will follow on Friday, April 26, and Rounds 4-7 will conclude the event on Saturday, April 27.
