Nate Solder goes above and beyond for ailing New York Giants fan

When the New York Giants signed left tackle Nate Solder to a four-year, $62 million deal, they knew they were getting more than just an offensive line anchor.

As talented as Solder may be on the field, he’s equally as valuable off of it.

Although he prefers to exist under-the-radar, a recent gesture by Solder leaked out into the world and considering how much negative attention NFL players often draw, it’s worth highlighting Solder’s heartfelt efforts.

While visiting with children at the Connecticut Children’s Hospital in Hartford earlier this week, Solder took it upon himself to set up an impromptu Facetime call between one of the ailing kids and his favorite player, quarterback Eli Manning.

Manning and Solder are arguably two of the most community-involved players in football. In 2016, Manning was named the Walter Payton Man of the Year, while Solder was a finalist in 2017.
