New York Giants rise from depths in latest USA TODAY power rankings

The New York Giants stunned the Chicago Bears in Week 13, winning a wild game that played out in overtime in front of mostly empty stands. When all was said and done, the Giants had improved their record to 4-8 on the season and are 3-1 since their bye week.

The sudden success has begun to change perception around the league. And while the Giants are still considered a ways off from completely turning things around, their latest victory was enough to warrant a three-spot rise in the latest USA TODAY power rankings, where they now rest at No. 22 overall.

However, that rise did not come without a subtle shot at Odell Beckham Jr. and his rather half-hearted attempt to recover an onside kick in the fourth quarter.

With $65M in guarantees headed his way, Odell Beckham must understand why no Giants fan wants him making any more on-field business decisions.

Comparatively, the Washington Redskins fell four spots to No. 19 overall following their loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, who rose four spots to No. 14 overall.

The Dallas Cowboys, as you might have expected, saw the biggest rise in the NFC East, jumping a remarkable seven spots to No. 7 overall following a win against the New Orleans Saints.

With the aforementioned Saints falling out of the No. 1 overall spot, the Los Angeles Rams have regained control at the top. Meanwhile, the San Francisco 49ers fell to No. 32 overall thanks in large part to an Arizona Cardinals victory over the Green Bay Packers.
