The NFL announced on Monday the following schedule change for Week 16 (December 23): The New York Giants at Indianapolis Colts game originally scheduled for 1:00 PM ET on FOX will move to 1:00 PM ET on CBS.
The reason for the switch was not specified. Most likely the game was moved to balance out the coverage on that day. Before the change, FOX had five 1:00pm games to CBS’s three. Now each network has four. FOX has two late afternoon games and CBS has just one.
It also straightens out a conflict with the Jets on that day as they are scheduled to host the Green Bay Packers at MetLife Stadium on FOX that day at 1:00pm.
